Help with Army NCO Prep
Army NCO Prep is an independent study aid for Soldiers preparing for boards and leadership roles. If something isn't working for you or you have a question, reach out. We value your feedback; it's how we make the app better.
When you write in, it helps to include your device and browser (for the web app) or app version, and what you were doing when the problem happened.
Common questions
Does the app work offline?
It depends on how you opened it. Installed to your home screen, the questions, flashcards, your notes and your scores are on your device and keep working with no connection. In a browser that is up to the browser, and we do not promise it. Publications open with no connection once you have downloaded them.
Downloading a regulation PDF needs a connection, and so does Recite the Creed while it is using your browser's speech recognition. Turn on enhanced recognition in Settings and the creed is graded on your device too.
Do I need an account?
No. The app works fully without one. An account keeps a copy of your studying so your other devices match.
The web app opens free in your browser.
How can I read the regulations that are cited in the app?
You can view the publication in the app. Our PDF reader lets you read the regulations, make highlights and notes, bookmark a page, and add a publication to your favorites list.
How does the Recite the Creed feature work?
Recite the Creed uses voice recognition software to highlight the words as you go.
How do I clear my data?
Open Settings, find the Study data row, and tap Reset study data, then confirm. That clears your scores, missed questions, study stats and readiness. It is deliberately two steps so a stray tap cannot wipe your progress.
Your regulation notes, highlights, bookmarks and favorites are stored separately and are not touched by that reset. To remove those as well, clear this site's data in your browser, or delete the app if you installed it.
Either way, that clears it from this device. With sync turned on, we also hold a copy on our server. Delete your account to remove it.
Is this an official U.S. Army app?
No. Army NCO Prep is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, the U.S. Government, or any government agency. It is not an official product of any of them.
Always verify anything here against the current published regulation before your board.
